day with Grandma Carolyn
My Mom is here watching the girls today because Kids korner daycare is closed for cleaning. This is the update email my Mom sent me:
(read from bottom to top)
from mom:
Oh yah, I also sang requests while playing the accordion. The requests were a song about Hawaii and a song about Mary and her little lambs. In my song about Hawaii, I sang I wanted a Mai Tai.
Maia wants to do a game now.
Maybe my last song of the day will be Rescue Me.
from me: OMG, how FUN!!!!
from Mom: Just now put Amara down. I had to rock her to sleep a couple times before she zonked out. We're all still in our pajamas. Maia is eating cheerios and watching Curious George right now. I was a puppy and a baby this morning. Maia taught me how to talk like a baby and how to eat as a puppy. And we had a talent show. And I played accordion while Maia conducted me.
from me: How's it going, Mama?

Summer 2010
Wow... I am BEHIND.
Maia is now FOUR years old!! The other night, she was talking about rules. She said "You shouldn't push someone on a bridge, otherwise you will fall into the water." .... nothing about hurting the other person.... haha.... She's really been into imaginitive play lately. She likes to play "jail" or "garbage" where you put her in jail or in the garbage and she escapes. She also likes to play 'squirrel" "horses" and she likes to make people pretend they are babies or puppies. She is so imaginitive and she is a director! She will tell you how to act. she is funny and bright and very sensitive.
AMARA is now 19 months! She is saying more and more words all the time. She says "all done" and "stop" and "nah" and "yah" and "book" and more. She points to things and says mroe gibberish all the time. S he is a very funny girl. She loves playing jokes on people, like pretending to give people food and then taking it away! She will put a diaper on her head and laugh. She is such a joy.
Amara and Maia LOVE each other. Maia is a helpful, great big sister. Amara wants to do everything that Maia does. Sometimes they fight over things, but most of the time, they get along very well.
